RYA Sail cruising courses will be instructed by our RYA Instructors.
Debbie Williams
Debbie Williams is a Yachtmaster Instructor - since 2017, RYA Shore based Instructor and is a Paddle sports Touring Leader and Ski leader.
Debbie has been Principle and Chief Instructor of RYA Training Centre Glencoe Outdoor Centre since 2018 and Instructing RYA Sail Cruising courses since 2012.
Debbie is a Director of Glencoe Outdoor Centre.
Charles Lyster
Charles is a Yachtmaster Instructor - since 2015, summer and winter mountain leader, canoe coach and commercial skipper with over 40 years experience of working with groups in the outdoors. He worked for Outward Bound in Wales and Zimbabwe where he was Chief Instructor of the Chimanimani Outward Bound School for a year. He set up and for 16 years ran the charity ‘Odyssey’ which uses adventure to enhance quality of life for adults with cancer.
Charles is a sailor, furniture maker, boatbuilder, first aid trainer, climber, skier and lover of adventure who has travelled and climbed In wild parts of Europe, Africa and South America. He has two boats, a small traditional boat he built 25 years ago and a 1930 classic yacht, ‘Driac’ which he has restored and sailed widely around Britain
David Bonham
David is a Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore since 2016, and an RYA Cruising Instructor. He has over 30 years cruising and racing experience, on a range of yachts from 30 to 50 foot long. This includes time sailing around Scotland, the Mediterranean, the USA and Caribbean - but his favourite area of all is the West Coast of Scotland, especially the islands! David has worked with the Glencoe Outdoor Centre since 2017, skippering one of the yachts on the annual Scripture Union Cruise, and is now conducting RYA cruising instruction more broadly. David loves sailing with friends, family and anyone interested in learning more about this wonderful hobby!!
